About Cortny
Cortny R Jarrell is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is a candidate for First Vice-President of the Southern University Alumni Federation. Cortny is committed to maximizing fundraising and focusing on alumni engagement. She is an energetic, enthusiastic and an engaging individual.
Cortny is a well-rounded individual. She is an active member of the Gamma Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she serves as the Chairperson of “Target 1: HBCU For Life: A Call to Action” and represents her Chapter as the Chief of Staff on the Greater Baton Rouge Pan-Hellenic Council.
Cortny is a volunteer Captain for the Southern University 1880 Society, Million Dollar March (MDM) campaign where she has secured thousands of dollars for the University.
She serves as a member of the Mayor’s 2021 Youth Advisory Literary Task Force and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
